History

1972

 The Company is incorporated as DAF Produktie Sint-Truiden.

1975

Volvo Car acquires the passenger car division of DAF; the name VCST (Volvo Cars Sint Truiden) is born. 

VCST will be part of Volvo Car till 1992.

1988

Surface Treatment Company is established in Sint Truiden.

1993

 VCST establishes its first Subsidiary outside Belgium : A Distribution and Sales Center VCST Inc. in Detroit, USA is established.

1998

VCST sells its CVT business to ZF.

2000

The company shifts dramatically in core focus from assembly to machining operations.

Substantial investments are made in machining equipment for contract wins and expansions.

2001

VCST expands its manufacturing operations into Germany and acquires the Reichenbach facility from Continental.

In the same year the company acquires company REEF gear and expands its manufacturing operations in Detroit, USA.  

2005

VCST de México is originated in Léon, Mexico.

2007

Manufacturing operations in North-America are consolidated into VCST de México and the Detroit facility turns into a sales and logistics service center.

2011

VCST expands into Asia by establishing a new subsidiary VCST Changzhou, China.

2012

To support future European customers, VCST establishes VCST Alba, Romania.

2016

VCST acquisition by the international industrial group BMT.
